One of our largest BO customers is planning to migrate to BI 4 since a while (currently on BOE XIR2), what prevents them from proceeding is that they have more than 1700 DeskI reports published on the BI platform, more than 90% of those reports are freehand SQL based. As you know the conversion tool will not fit with such huge number of freehand SQL reports, however the customer is quite sure that maximum of 20% of the 1700 reports are really used and the others are obsolete which will dramatically decrease the migration effort specially that customer will offer end users with self service BI to create there reports in the future
The main problem now that the customer in not able to determine which reports are used!! For example, they need to know which reports that have not been refreshed or scheduled in the last 3 months. We advised the customer that he can use the audit the DB to generate such report but they claim that they already used the audit reports and it gave inaccurate results, our partner whom working on the migration project confirmed that
