Hello. I know it´s near to three years after your post. But it may help others who have same requirements. Use transaction IE07 and export this data to an MS ACCESS database with standard function available in IE07. Then you can perform all queries in MS ACCESS. Beside of characteristics linked to equipments you have many more options to extract data.
This is the easiest way for me to work with multiple data for equipments in SAP.
